Unfortunately, all good things come to an end too quickly. In spite of many wishes that CATS could run all summer, on Sunday we found ourselves gathered in the Main Hall one last time for a marvellous Closing Session which served to connect the red thread of the issues tackled during this year’s conference.
Throughout this morning session, conclusions were drawn and connections were made, but the ultimate masterpiece was the creative regeneration of our Protective Environmental Framework. The eight sections of the PEF, which were thoroughly discussed throughout the week were distributed amongst the participants. Each group got a section representing a point on the PEF, and each individual was given a space to express his or her knowledge, as creatively or expressively as possible. The end result being a beautiful representation and summary of a week’s learnings.
As the beautiful saying goes, ‘Don’t be sad that it’s over, be glad that it happened’. The many projects discussed throughout the week were promises of beginnings, with CATS simply serving as a starting or boosting point to whatever project we have in mind.
