After 6 years of World Forum and many success stories and initiatives after participating in CATS, we have accepted a new challenge, to expand our work in different regions of the world thanks to a committed team that wants to spread the vision of CATS on children participation to the whole world.
With the many challenges for children and young people in India there has been and continues to be many creative actions taken by NGOs, schools, social institutions, health centers pedagogical movements and indeed Children and youth themselves.
In addition to poverty, malnutrition and food insecurity, children are confronted with issues of child labor, school access and arranged child marriages. These important issues and others are ongoing and we feel only through the active participation of children themselves can adequate solutions be found. Working with children and not for them. Many issues facing children such as marginalized groups facing discrimination based on religion, caste, ethnicity and gender have taken positive and innovative action which needs to be shared and strengthened.
Initiatives of Change is well integrated in India and has the infrastructure of Asia Plateau which is a Conference Center which fits perfectly the needs of a CATS Forum.
The Forum will give visibility to such issues, as well as initiatives addressing them through the participation of girls in view of empowering their role in their communities. We are also hoping to bring together children faced with varied situations: disabilities, street children, tribal children, minority- Muslims, DNT, children of sex workers, children of HIV affected families, Dalit children, slum children, children from conflict area, privileged children, refugees and migrant children, displaced children.
